Barry heads up Mpisi Consulting and has accumulated over 30 years of experience across a range of industries spanning manufacturing, services, and distribution within the FMCG, import / export and wholesale distribution sectors. He has held a range of senior positions across consulting, finance, general management and IT, with companies ranging from SME to listed companies across Asia Pacific, North America, and South Africa.
Barry has deep experience in the technology sector with multiple roles overseeing and managing the technology teams, including building a SaaS and managed services company to service the SME sector using Dynamics NAV at its core. An early adopter of technology, Barry has regularly chartered new directions within the companies he had been associated with to challenge the status quo and drive structural changes.
While Barry started his career within finance, there was a driving need to ‘work smarter’ and this led to the early embrace of technology. The early deployment of business intelligence platforms in the 90’s firmed the view around the importance of data governance. This became one of the driving forces to become a technology evangelist to drive changes within companies to better understand how to work ‘On a business’, not ‘In it’ by surfacing the strategy from complex data.
Barry has extensive experience working at both a Board and Executive level through to the coal face, however his experience within the SME sector working with business owners had provided him with his greatest knowledge source. He has regularly built strong and trusted teams with a performance delivery culture centred on customer service by empowering the potential of the team members.
